Vince Neil Vs Guns N Roses in Top 5 Rock N Roll Fights!

Tuesday • September 11,  2010   8:34:43 AM

Thanks to Kid Rock’s sissy backhand to Tommy Lee's head at this years VMA's. The topic of 'Top Rock N Roll Fights' has been given renewed interest, and the folks at Music Blend have weighed in with a list of the top 5. And coming in at number 5 is Vince Neil vs Guns N' Roses.

The Backstory:. During the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards, former Guns N Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin reportedly hit on Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neil’s wife. After the incident was reported to Neil, the enraged frontman vaulted on stage and cold cocked Stradlin all up in his face. Within a few seconds, security had broken up the altercation and each man headed out for a long night of boozing.

Aftermath: A few days later, an infuriated Axl Rose appeared on MTV and challenged Vince Neil to a parking lot brawl. The offer was soon accepted, but a location could never be agreed upon. Axl’s revenge never took place and both men parted bitter enemies. They reportedly still hate each other, and if God has a sense of humor, he’ll send a chance meeting and a few beers to each of them.

Why You Should Care: Believe it or not, these two idiots were quite possibly in the two most popular bands of the late 1980s. Today, it would be like Chad Kroeger of Nickleback and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy throwing haymakers. I’m getting excited just thinking about those two effeminate douche bags socking each other in the eyeballs right now. Neil clearly gets the decision on account of throwing the only punch, but had Axl and Vince ever squared off, I’d have to give the edge to Motley Crue. At the time, betting odds seemed to be heavily in Axl’s favor, but how do you bet on the man that wrote “November Rain?” That doesn’t make any sense at all.

Axl in two rounds

9/12/2007 | 12:11:22 AM by Wolverine7

I would like to see more an Axl Rose vs. James Hetfield brawl that would be so cool. too like some Celebrity Death Match thing. Metallica and Guns are my all time favorites bands.

Cheers.

9/12/2007 | 12:11:53 AM by Norwegian Gun

well, he wrote November Rain, but he also tried to "throw" a piano out the window once, so yes, i bet my money on Axl, not Vince, he looks like a tired Dolly Parton to me.

9/12/2007 | 12:46:50 AM by C.T.

Axls' also the guy that wrote Outta Get Me, Shotgun Blues Perfect Crime etc... What's the point of the this "writer's" last line?

9/12/2007 | 1:20:32 AM by Gomer Pyle

My wife, who weighs 128 lbs, could kick Axl's ass. ANyways, who cares! Just release Chinese Democracy....if you can...if it exists.

9/12/2007 | 1:27:53 AM by Big Pat

Gomer, we both know thats not happening. No news is not good news. Something tells me that the album in its present form is going to be scrapped. Thats all Im going to say about that

9/12/2007 | 1:32:37 AM by C.T.

I'm in agreement. Something major is holding up the release of this record and I suspect it's a creative issue. Either Axl feels the music is not good enough or it's not good enough to be the first release. let's face it, Axl has no choice but to "hit a homerun off the bench". This album HAS to be a huge commercial success, if not Guns N' Roses are finished.

9/12/2007 | 1:39:37 AM by C.T.

You know, it's quite possible that GN'R just might fade away. I hate to think that but what if we just don't hear from them again, musically speaking. They may tour and play some of the "new" familiar songs as well as the old standards but it's possible that this is it. I'm not trying to be a downer here but come on. 1991 was the year of last original music!! What do we have as a sign that there is going to be a release of new music?

Nothing. Nothing at all.

9/12/2007 | 1:49:46 AM by BP

I tell ya. Its not coming out. Not anytime soon, and not in the form it is now. Just you watch.

9/12/2007 | 2:06:02 AM by Big Pat

Not newsworthy for its own spot. But still interesting

Chinese Democracy Put Back To 2008

Chinese Democracy, the long-awaited sixth studio album by Guns N' Roses, that has been in the making for the 13 years, could now be out early next year despite promises of definite release in 2007. Major online music retailers Play.com and HMV have now published a release date February 11 2008.

in response to wolverine..... i really dont think axl would stand a chance against hetfield.... especially if we're talkin about 15 yrs ago. james would beat his fuckin ass badly

9/12/2007 | 3:16:26 AM by C.T.

The part at the end of Breakdown is taken from the movie Vanishing Point (1971):

"There goes the challenger being chased
By the blue blue meanies on wheels
The vicious traffic squad cars are
After our lone driver
The last American hero
The-the electric sintar
The demi-god,
The super driver of the golden west!
Two nasty Nazi cars are close behind
The beautiful lone driver
The police cars are getting closer-closer...
Closer to our soul hero in his soul mobile- Yeah baby!
They about to strike, They gonna get him, SMASH! RAPE!
The last beautiful free soul on this planet
"Did you hear that"

And the Knockin' On Heavens door lyric was Axls' own.

"You just better start sniffin' your own
rank subjugation jack 'cause it's just you
against your tattered libido, the bank and
the mortician, forever man and it wouldn't
be luck if you could get out of life alive"

9/12/2007 | 5:07:34 AM by C.T.

I have it and it sucks, trust me. Look it up on Amazon.com and read what people have to say about it. It's unofficial and it's shite!

9/12/2007 | 5:16:07 AM by ?

I feel like it may be a legal issue that's holding up the release of Chinese Democracy, and not a musical one. Axl's hired and fired a lot of people over the years and switched record companis, and contract negotiations can take a long time, and we all know how picky he is.

I'm not sure what to think about Chinese Democracy now, but I still feel grateful that I was lucky enough to see GnR twice and that first time at Leeds Fest 2002 will always live with me, but I think Axl has blown it.

Peace out and blame Canada.

Sorry guys. But you do a good job without them.

9/12/2007 | 2:22:01 PM by Rob22

9/12/2007 | 2:52:07 PM by BP

Well Rob, we have done very well without them in the past. So I think we will survive!

I think most people are happy to express an opinion. And don't see the need for a smiley or a happy face or whatever. Never been an issue.

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Drummer STEVE ADLER: New Audio Interview Available - Sep. 12, 2007

An audio interview with former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler conducted on Monday, September 10 by Gino Alache of Rockum Radio's "Breakin the Rock" (broadcasting out of Lima, Peru) is available for download at this location.

With the big "Appetite For Destruction" 20th anniversary show behind him, Adler recently told Billboard.com that he is looking forward to taking his ADLER'S APPETITE band worldwide. But he's also holding out hope for a blowout reunion bash with his former bandmates.

"I believe I made it this far for some reason," Adler told Billboard.com. "I want to finish what we started, and ... with the love and support I got from those guys, I think we can (reunite). I'm gonna leave it up to Axl [Rose]. That's gonna be Axl's call, and I love Axl and I know he'll make the right call."

At the July 28 show at West Hollywood's Key Club, Adler and company were joined by Gunners Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan, while guitarist Slash watched a few songs before leaving for a prior commitment

I agree Rob22. Adler needs to go away. The guy can't stop clinging to the past. Now, I don't know for sure but I get the impression this guy thinks he was a bigger part of the GN'R legacy than he actually was. Just a feeling I get whenever he's interviewed.

9/12/2007 | 5:38:55 PM by Rob22

Totally agree C.T. YOUR A DRUMMER STEPHEN!!! he acts like he owns Appetite, the drumming was perfect and all, but ehm...theres better.

steven has nothing to hold on to, that's why he's hoping for a reunion that will not happen..i feel a bit sorry for the guy..but he wasn't professional enough to stay in the band..

9/12/2007 | 9:42:14 PM by Kevo

Hey Big Pat, why do you think the album as it is now will be scrapped? The lack of news or just a hunch?

9/12/2007 | 10:57:35 PM by C.T.

Hey OBS I wouldn't overstate Stven's contributions to GN'R. I wouldn't say he was a big part of GN'R. AFD would not have been much different if they had a different drummer.

9/12/2007 | 11:58:44 PM by Rob22

I'm with C.T. and NewGNR on this one, Stephen is an alright drummer but when do your ever hear people say, "wow, the drumming on appetite is amzazing" ?. He's not that big a part, The Use Your Illusion's didnt have Stephen and to be honest, I prefer them to listen to. Appetite is just too perfect!!!

9/13/2007 | 12:44:18 AM by Roger Hornsbey

Why scrap it???? Are you serious Big Pat??? Why??? That would be stupid!!

9/13/2007 | 4:19:57 AM by Big Pat

Scrapped in its current form. Some new songs, new album title. Release date late late 08.

Thats what I have heard.

9/13/2007 | 4:55:19 AM by C.T.

How long has Chinese Democracy as an album title been kicking around now? 8 or 9 years? It hasn't even been released yet and it's old already. There is some genius songs that may never be release. TWAT and Catcher in the Rye are as good as anything GN'R have ever released. Too bad really. All I know is that if and when GN'R releases an album it will be of the highest quality. I just hope that they release something.

9/13/2007 | 8:24:00 AM by split66

Pat... are you now somehow receiving inside info from a source close to the recording? If it isn't credible please be careful to spread it. Many people here believe all you say as gospel. A rumour coming from your mouth could start a world wide revolution of gigatic proportions. You don't want to be responsible for this do you?

9/13/2007 | 10:29:33 AM by Rob22

ah balls so now we have to wait until late 2008 to be told it's delayed, I was hoping for late this year, ah well.
Yeah, changing the title might be the best Idea, then people for years will right about the infamous 'Chinese Democracy' that never was (album and real politics).
Scraping the songs though, well I.R.S. can go, it's the weakest link, but I really want to hear finished tracks of Silkworms, it sounds so cool :)

9/13/2007 | 3:01:19 PM by Rob22

Hi everyone,

I have learnt the following facts about Chinese Democracy; The Album

Chinese Democracy will come in volumes amounting to 37, each containing 30 CD's each.

Each Inlay card will be presented in hardback containing over 16,000 pages per volume including such paragraphs as 'Axl and Me', a short story by Ron Bumblefoot.

Shipping of each Volume to Europe will take 4 trips return trips by 17 specially designed Sea Crate carriers (for the first 10,000 copies).

Computers will need over 700GB of free space to hold all the volumes.

When all volumes have been released, copies of Chinese Democracy will account for 6.9% of the total earth landmass.

The Foo Fighters have formed and released almost 7 (Skin and Bones is the 6th) albums and become the biggest hard rock band in the world since ‘Chinese Democracy’ was started.

Over 23,000 people worked directly on this album, with a further 75,000 being included on various stages. The credits for each volume are set to take up over 350 pages of each inlay card, with some reaching as high as a separate ‘Credit’s Only’ Inlay Card

Apparently before his death in 1976, Chairman Mao, from the communist Party in China, declared that any album titled ‘Chinese Democracy’, would never be released unless the scrapped most of the songs and re-named it, (Big Pat has since confirmed that the prophecy has been fulfilled)

Apparently the rough, non-studio recorded demos that will come with the special editions contain more sound recorded history of the world than any other database.

Over 57% of people born when Guns N’ roses started recording this album have lost their virginity by now.

Finally, if each CD of material from all the volumes amounted to one album each, the combined tour would take over 475 years, with over 365,000,000 dates. Also, shows would need to be at least 6-8 days long to cover all the material from all the volumes.

Regards,
Rob22

9/13/2007 | 3:10:28 PM by C.T.

Hahahahahahahaha!!! Hilarious!! I bet there's more fact than fiction in that post Rob22.

9/13/2007 | 3:11:23 PM by Me

Scrapping the album would be shameful waste and God only knows what out wait for music will be then, but it would probably make more sense, I supose at this point. As far as the speculation and rumours go, the sources close to the recording haven't been any more helpful or credible than Joe Blow off the street so it doesn't really matter where it comes from Split. It's just another year without an album or even a firm release date. Just par for the course. But I'm sure there is some logical reason and eventually we will all be able to say "Hell yeah, it was worth the wait!".

9/13/2007 | 3:13:26 PM by Me

God, sorry for all the typos. Translator please!!

9/13/2007 | 3:18:19 PM by Rob22

It would want to be worth the wait at 1110 CD's :)

Sorry to have offended you ME! Didn't actually know I was but I understand now. My point was anyone on here saying they are close to the recording or have a source close to it are full of shit. BUT!!! I have been saying for a year that they should change the name. Thats a good idea! pees.

9/13/2007 | 5:05:43 PM by split66

Rob, Rob, Rob. Fuk'n brilliant!!! The 57% virginity loss... HA!

9/13/2007 | 5:09:48 PM by Me

Knock it off Split. I wasn't offended. My point was that there are no credible sources. Obviously, not even Axl himself.

9/13/2007 | 5:15:20 PM by Chuck

I do believe that Chinese Democracy is never coming out. Why? I'll give you 5 reasons:
a).- No profit. They have spent millions of dollars in it, and they would need to spend a whole lot more to finish it, produce it and in
publicity. And in this day where you can download any album in 10 minutes even before its released, it can't sell enough copies to obtain profit.
b).- Actual state of music: right now, rock is not strong enough. I mean, look at the MTV: there is too much rap and hip-hop.
c).- There is no way in the world that
it would live up to its fame. The Blues and There Was a Time are great songs but not epic, Better works as a single but isn't strong enough, Chinese Democracy and I.R.S are average, and Catcher in the Rye although is also great, sounds outdated (Queen).
And if it gets bashed by the critics, Axl would commit suicide or retire into total obscurity.
d).- Obviously the leaks were intentional to create some hype for the following tours.
e).- Finally, the most important one: Axl is crazy. Here is a 40 year old musical genius, but with severe mental problems (bipolar, violent). He is not married and doesn't have children, and hasn't been able to find his "muse" in 14 years. I think that the Stephanie Seymour situation left him devastated.

9/13/2007 | 5:24:02 PM by C.T.

Chuck, I think you nailed it. For all those reasons I agree with you. Chinese Democracy will never be released. In fact, I'll go one further in that GN'R and/or Axl will never release any new material again, ever.

9/13/2007 | 5:26:59 PM by Me

As much as it breaks my heart, I think you're right C.T..

9/13/2007 | 5:32:13 PM by Rob22

yeah, good points :( I really hope Axl proves you wrong cause it will mean an album but you have hit the nail on the head there. As Joe Elliott said, 'No band will ever sell 15 million albums again', not even GN;R and if they did, that might just barley cover the costs of this album.

Please have an ace up your sleave Axl

9/13/2007 | 5:36:06 PM by C.T.

Doesn't it seem that way ME? I think GN'R and Axl are so caught up in leagal wranglings that no one is going to touch this guy/band in terms of financially backing any of his projects. He probably has lawsuits pending against him garnishing any future monies on any future projects. What sound business is going to back that financial disaster? And to boot, the whole downloading situation and all the other reasons that Chuck mentioned, to me add up to no release ever!. Wow, it just kind of hit me!

9/13/2007 | 5:37:13 PM by Big pat

I've also been informed that judas iscariot and cliff burton (ex-metallica bassist) make guest apperances on the new incarnation of chinese democracy.Sources also speculate that im just some jackass who runs a website with no actual "real" information about the status of the album.

9/13/2007 | 5:58:50 PM by Me

Wow, that's funny Big Pat is sitting right here with me and he didn't make that smartass post above. Must be some jackass!

Did he or did he not say "Thats what I have heard". Did he say "Axl told me"? As if that would mean anything more!!

9/13/2007 | 5:59:40 PM by Rob22

Sarcasm or truth Big Pat?

9/13/2007 | 6:00:17 PM by Rob22

and I dont mean about the new info lol

9/13/2007 | 6:04:13 PM by Big Pat

You have to know that isn't me Rob22.

9/13/2007 | 6:25:57 PM by Me

Yes C.T., It seems to me that at this point in the game Axl is content just doing what he's doing. Why deal with all the bullshit involved with this album?

9/13/2007 | 6:39:33 PM by Rob22

ah, sorry. I thought you were pulling the piss :(

9/13/2007 | 6:57:23 PM by split66

I for the record would like to say I am not a jackass. :)

9/13/2007 | 6:59:56 PM by C.T.

I have been a jackass in the past but for the most would not consider myself to be one. ;-)

9/13/2007 | 7:41:41 PM by C.T.

Was there any truth to a post that claimed TWAT was almost 10 minutes long as well as other known songs being longer? I’m just curious if anyone can corroborate.

9/13/2007 | 7:43:25 PM by Rob22

Who ever posted that comment as 'Big pat'. Fuck off, it's because of people like Pat we have any clue wjats going on and I'd trust him a hell of alot more than anyone else, so why dont you fuck off, have some balls and post under your own name....asshole

Stop with the Big Pat bashing. This site is here and up and running becaulse of him.
I think I heard your friends over on the Warrent, Slaughter and Poison chat board...

9/13/2007 | 8:21:15 PM by Chuck

C.T:
I confirmed that Chinese Democracy was not going to be released when I attended the tour opener at Monterrey. I told my wife:
"If the concert starts with chinese music, it's really coming out. If it starts with Jungle, its over". Obviously, my wife couldn't care less, as she was pissed at Axl being two hours late.. ha ha.
Anyway, hopefuly Axl leaks more songs just to get them out there (I really would love to hear The General, Thyme and This I Love).
Now I look forward only at a possible reunion, but they got to hurry, cause Popcorn isn't going to last that long.
And talkin' about reunions, how about the Led-Zep show? I would give anything to be there...

9/13/2007 | 8:34:31 PM by C.T.

I don't think a GN'R reunion will happen if for only one reason, spite. Axl re-records musicians parts as to not give them royalties. I think there is way too much bad blood even if it's only on Axl's part. To Axl, a reunion might mean he's failed. Obviously I don't know for certain but Axl strikes me as the guy who will not be in favour of a reunion. He's a stubborn S.O.B as well all know. I honestly think this the end of GN'R and there will never be an official release on any new music. If we are lucky enough to hear anything new it will come by way of the internet leak.

As for the Led Zep reunion, that os very cool. It's as close to a real Led Zep reunion as possible. I'd love to be there.

9/13/2007 | 8:38:09 PM by C.T.

You know, Gomer Pyle has been saying that for years. He was the first on this site to say it if I'm not mistaken. I may have even argued with him to the contrary. Looks like he was right.

Okay a couple of things.

First I don''t run this web site. It is owned and operated by two great guys that prefer to stay in the background. I only work here.

Although I appreciate all the support. The site was here before me and will do just fine if I decide to move on.

When I said that I have a source that told me something regarding the album, I never said its fact, but if someone tells me something and I feel its relevant, Im going to let everyone know. You guys can do with it what you want. But dont rip me, dont post as me. Most want to hear whats going on.

AXL ROSE Sued By Security Guard Over 2006 Concert Incident - Sep. 13, 2007

TMZ.com reports that a security guard at a GUNS N'' ROSES concert is suing the band and lead singer Axl Rose claiming that Rose kicked him in the head while on stage last year. (Note: The legal document lists the year as "1996", but this is clearly a typo as the band played the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California on December 20, 2006 — not ten years earlier.)

In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 29, Gary Armijo claims that while he was working as a security guard stationed in front of the stage, Rose "intentionally kicked [Armijo] in the head proximately causing severe physical injuries."

The lawsuit goes on to allege that unless Rose is stopped, he "will continues to commit willful assaults of the nature described herein on innocent members of the public and security personnel, both during and outside of GUNS N'' ROSES concerts."

Howard Weitzman, Rose''s attorney, tells TMZ.com, "The allegations in this lawsuit are frivolous. There is video of this incident which contradicts the allegations against Axl. Axl vehemently denies he did anything wrong which will be proven via witnesses and the video. Unfortunately anyone can file a lawsuit whether it has merit or not. In my opinion this is a pathetic attempt to get money from Axl."
