I hope this is a good sign that things (especially the album release) are moving forward! It all looks very promising at the moment.
But then again, things looked very promising last year, and even before that. As I already said in another thread, I do believe that we'll get this album some day and I'm looking forward to listening to it. But at the same time I am still sceptical about this all, it happened so many times before that hopes were raised and then crashed again.. And I'm really tired of that. Tired of getting excited and then nothing happens, over and over again...
I hope that GnR get their shit together, finally, and we will see the album some time this year. I would buy it anyway, even if it only gets released in 5 years or whenever.
But until then I remain sceptical, and only believe it when I see the cd in stores.

Just spoke to Q 94.5 DJ and he no longer has the song better. He said he did not think it was an oficial release and thinks the prev DJ might have gotten word to stop playin the song. He said to listen later tonight to the same radio show and see if it is played again. I just do not know what to believe! I hate to bring bad or negative news, I just wanted to let everyone know what I was just told 2 minutes ago. Hope everyone is doing well and lets keep hopping for the best.

Hey Chris, that is somewhat strange to hear. I spoke to two different guys at the station yesterday. Both said it was official. Of course we have heard similar stuff before.

I have a call in to the General Manager. We will get the real news of this.

Please keep in mind the morning show is a canned show. By that its programed where all music is done prior to air time. Even if they wanted to play Better, the couldnt. So lets wait and see.

Hello everybody, and thanks BP and chris for getting and sharing your info!

I know I am repeating myself, but this whole GnR drama is getting annoying. Some say this, others say that, and in the end nobody really knows anything. I'm sick and tired of this lack of official information, of speculating, hoping and wishing. Why is it so difficult for GnR to keep their fans at least a little bit updated, why do they let rumours be floating around instead of saying just something about the current status of the album, why...??? If they need that to create some hype to keep themselves relevant, then this is sad. But whatever it is, let the music speak for itself!
I'll be in line when the cd gets released, but I am so annoyed of this GnR soap opera!!!

Sorry for my little rant, I'll stop now :)

I called a local station here in Jackaonville, fl Planet Radio 107.3 and spoke to the DJ/ program director on air and he said they have received nothing from the label at all. He said he would look into it and will play it as soon as they receive something official.

They left out the middle part, it's basically similar to the version we heard already, without the Pitman stuff in it, and some minor changes.

Don't you guys think that if the album were coming out this year at all we'd know about it for sure by now!! For Christ sakes......we're on the verge of a world tour that will likely get shut down at some point if history is any indication with this band, and there is absolutely no official word on the album. Doesn't it occur to anyone that the reason we haven't heard anything substantial on the status of this album is because it hasn't been turned in?? Or even more likely hasn't even been completed/produced or mixed??? If memory serves me correctly this isn't even the CHINESE DEMOCRACY WORLD TOUR, That title was given by over zealous (and rightfully so) fans and media outlets. Wasn't the real name as issued by the official source, GUNS N' ROSES 2007 WORLD TOUR. Folks please stop the insanity!!!! I know you all want this album as do I but let's face the facts...IT AIN'T HAPPENING AT ALL....NOT THIS YEAR PROBABLY NOT NEXT......PROBABLY NEVER!!! Or at least until Universal/Geffen sues Axl Rose for fraud and for misappropriation of it's investment in this album. The best case scenario as I see it is that this tour is just a way to continue funding this "Joke on the Fans" elusive album. That's right we're all being fucking punked!!! Flame me if you must, but the cold water from this sad, disappointing and disgraceful reality woke me up a long time ago. Don't tell me to leave either because I'm so unhappy because I won't. Waited all day to hear it on Qrock. Wow!Finally something to be excited about! This song is now complete. Just shows you that all this mixing and fine tuning is paying off. This version is 100% better than the leaked version a few months back.

Just got off the phone with our local MN rock station and they said they don't have anything official from GNR and haven't heard anything. His exact words were "there is a lot of BS when it comes to GNR.
They were playing the leaked version a few weeks ago until he said he got the "cease and desist" order from the GNR camp. Just thought I'd share.

Jack, as I said earlier, if you read the posts. The mid day dj said he wasnt for sure, that it may be a demo from 2004. I spoke to the P.D. at the station, he said the dj got his info from a caller. probably from one of the many many know it alls that do nothing but complain about GnR.

my best friend dated Kerry King in 1988. This whole GnR "Chinese Democracy" thing is a joke. Do you realize how all of you (myself included from time to time) are basically picking at any scrap of GnR thrown in your direction? Axl mentions March 6th and everybody in collective unison chants "Chinese Democracy starts now". What happened? Nothing!!! No Chinese Democracy.

Radio stations (including the one I listen to in Sacramento which played Better for almost a week before they got a cease and desist letter) play old demos and again, the rabid masses chant "Chinese Democracy starts now"!!!! "Chinese Democracy starts now"

I still call bullshit.

Hell, I just read that some radio station is now giving a tentative release date of "by October". And what do the collective masses do again??? Chant "Chinese Democracy starts now". But, like all other previous tentative release dates given for this joke of an album, it has no basis in reality! The only reality will be when the label announces it and believe me, you will know if that happens. None of this bullshit that one or two radio stations in this country are playing songs (official they say and then tell you it might be a demo) and are just biding their time until they get a cease and desist order. When a single comes out, EVERY damned rock station in the world will have it at the exact same time and they will all probably play it. And you know what? There will be no question as to whether or not it is from the record label. If there is a question like that coming up, then it is not official.

So, I would have to agree with "Real Deal" in that the only way this thing is going to come out is when the label sues Axl for it. By then, it really won't matter anymore anyway, because what few fans Axl had left will have died from old age waiting for the mythical album that never was.

If by chance a member of the band is reading this, then you can repeat what I said word for word to Axl. He has made a joke of the name GnR and continues to do so with each new day. Now, I can hear people saying "but we are so close to Chinese Democracy coming out". My answer is no we aren't. We have been hearing that for Axl Rose since 2000 and here we are 7 years later hearing demos from 2004 or earlier.

Whatever, I am done with this.

I want to say thank you to the few people in here who have made me smile from time to time (S.W.O.C., "Real Deal" Neil, "Me", "Split66" "Penny Lane" "Cocaine Tongue" and even Josh Jones and GnR4ever and last but not least "Private Gomer"), and kept me on my toes during debates. I know of at least one who I consider a good friend and that person knows how to find me.

And last but not least, this is for "Aziz", or should I say "Big Pat" You have really shocked and disappointed me over the last month or so. What is with using other names to insult people on here??? Why the fuck can't you do it under your own damned name??? And don't go playing dumb because I have the e-mail from you stating that you are "Aziz" Remember, you made "Aziz" up when Gomer made some racist comment a while back??? That is another reason I am leaving. All the constant shit talking.

Well Brandon, even though i do not post very often i will mis reading yours. Why take all this so personally??? I too think it is really weird only 1 station in the whole world right now is playing the song. Maybe it is real, maybe it is not. In the end just enjoy what we have and what gnr once was...

Who cares if it ever comes out? Sure we are all curious and would like to see Axl back on top with new material... But in the end Axl is just some guy non of us know, that makes more money in one year off royalties than most will make in a lifetime. One day Axl will release this album, but if he does not it is nothing personal just his business decision.

Im going to see 'Axl's Chinese Democracy Production Costs tour' on the 23rd June in Australia.
Essentially i have stopped waiting for the album and now im just looking forward to the concert.
Much like everyone else who has frequented this site in the past year or so (or longer) i have enjoyed the leaks but found it disturbing that so many have surfaced without any trace of a release date. I think ultimately the harder Axl tries to keep it secret, the more likely things are going to leak - you cant keep a good album down.
Like most die-hard GNR fans my support is unconditional and i will wait for the release. Axl owes me nothing as he has already given the world allot of great songs and i've always thought he was the genius prick that you love to hate anyway.
I can understand the frustrations of Brandon etc but i can also understand the realities of what may be happening in the GNR camp. There is little doubt he is touring to re-coup losses from the recording of the album - an album that most likely should have been released several years ago. The truth is - I dont care. GNR could have self destructed in 1996 and then there would have been no more GNR - EVER (as Gomer is fond of writing)...Ultimately what i am trying to say is - I hate Axl Rose...but i cant wait to hear his new GNR album...

Velvet Revolver is playing "used to love her (but I had to kill her)" for three reasons:

1) Members of VR originally wrote and recorded the song, and they have as much right to play the song as Axl does

2) For sentimental reasons and because most bands enjoy putting a new spin / sound (Weilands voice) on old material

3) To bug the shit out of Axl

These are all valid reasons and although it may make your ears bleed, beauty of music is in the ear of the beholder. We don't all think it sucks. Just the Kool Aid Zombie drinking VR haters. Later Gator!

Eu acabei de ouvir, pela streamaudio dessa radio do texas, better e a versão que eles estão tocando não difere em nada da versão que todos aqui no Brasil já estão escutando a alguns meses. Não vi nada de diferente. é a versão antiga um pouco mais melhorada da demo.

I had a feeling that you were joking that's why I had a little fun with my response as well. Most of you guys on here are cool even though we disagree from time to time. Variety is the spice of life and I do drift toward the spicey!
After seeing the MPLS show in Dec. I was on such an AXl/new GNR high because the show was excellent in my opinion. I've since become a little salty because I was hoping to keep that ride going with the new CD. It's frustrating for it to always be "just out of reach." I hope Axl comes to his senses soon and gives the fans what they want and that is his complete greatness...i.e. tour and CD release.

After sitting listening to the station for 4 or so hours for it to come on, i have to say I've been left disappointed. If i had wanted to listen to the song I could have listened to the version i already own, they are so similar. I feel I have wasted my time, i was all set for something big, groundbreaking maybe, but no the same old, unclean, demo sound was still there. Teaches me for getting my hopes up I suppose. Obviously when the album comes out I will buy it, but now to me its just an album, nothing special. Peace Out.

What the hell were you expecting? All you had to do was look back at some of the posts, most said it was not much different. I dont agree with the unclean demo sound. You may be even more disappointed when the album comes out. What the hell do you want? Most are playing it on some computer speakers, its being broadcast over the internet! Tell you the truth most songs I hear sound pretty much the same as far as quality wise.

i just got an e-maail back from someone at universal music and they say it is not an official single and they are in the process of investigating the leaks and sending out multiple cease and desist letters across the country because other stations are also playing other demos from the new album.

well it depends on who you want to believe. The radio station Q94.5 told me they have permission to play it. (BETTER)Now since then we have heard all kinds of crazy stuff. Mike the on air guy said Monday they would go back to regular programing. Which leads me to believe Better will be gone. I stick by what I said from the start. This is an authorized version of Better. Is it the finished version? I doubt it. As the week draws to a close I feel like the information I got the first of the week was accurate.

No such thing as a stupid question. Lets start at the beginning. It is not a station I listen to regularly. I like many others are streaming it on line. I live in Texas but a couple hours from Q94.5. Second you are assuming its an unfinished demo. That is your assumption, and you have made that clear in your previous posts. And you ask a very good question, "Why would GnR give permission to any station to play an unfinished version of a song when they have spent months trying to stop the playing and spread of the unfinished versions of songs?" I dont have the answer. Could it be that its not an unfinished version? Could the reason be why its been playing for almost a week on heavy rotation is because they have permission? Another question, why when anything pops up on youtube regarding the new songs, it is removed in hours? Yet Better keeps playing on Q94.5 And no doubt the record company knows. Its on every music related web site around.

As far as them taking Better off the air on Monday, well that was just me speculating. The DJ said they were going back to regular programing on Monday. It may have nothing to do with the song. Does it sound dumb as you put it? Well I dont know. If what I was told is true, that the song was approved for play the week before the concert to generate interest. Then maybe its not so dumb.

You have done your best to make me take the bait. But it wont work. You seem very unhappy, the kind of person who doesnt like to see other people enjoy themselves. I have said all along, this may not be real, it may only last a few days, I may be wrong about this whole thing. But myself and a lot of other people have really enjoyed hearing the song on the radio. And all the attention it has been getting. Its exciting to watch it climb the charts and now become number 1 on the play list.

your question is not stupid... Personally I believe the station is saying they have permission, because they would like idiots admitting they did not have permission.

I am not going to pretend I know a lot about the music bizz, cuse I dont. But I have to admit this whole thing is really weird to me. To me this band is too proud and has been too careful with this album to just allow one station to play a new song. With all the money that has been put into this project you would think universal would not allow this either.

It could be possible that GNR’s plan is to slowly allow new songs radio play near cities where concerts are being played to increase excitement. This could also be used as a ploy from GNR to get more $$ from universal off record sales.

In the end none of us know and probably will never know. It has been really cool hearing “better” on this station and I have enjoyed listening to this station while working as a whole. Hopefully it is for real and this is the start of a new album and another USA/ world tour.

there is so much shit being spoken about Guns that only these slave to the radio/media fuckers listen to and then take the opportunity to belch forth upon the net audience their pre-conconcted ideas about the state of the Gunners music and method. The simple fact is that if you dont like the music fuck off and dont listen to it. In my opinion; I have downloaded the leaked tracks and play them loudly through my car and home stereos and truely believe that this is the best music to surface since Appetite.
Others may be swayed by public bullshit but the simple fact is that the new Guns music beats the crap out of any music that has come since their conception or demise of the original line up.
this music in the rock genre sets a new standard and one that i truely believe ( with complete and total respect to Slash) could not have been acheived without the aquisition of modern guitar and musical perspectives. If Guns where to have , for commercial sake, to have continued in their original mold they would have been labouriously pumping out the drivell that Velvet revolver have been pressured to produce to maintain acceptance from a teenage audience. Guns audience stalwarts emerged late 80's and now have kids of their own and want desperately to appreciate music from the greatest band of all time that shows development and maturation and satisfies the potential that they showed in appetite but never captured with the illusion albums. Here is my thought on the old vs. new GNR… The old band was unbelievable and created a rock bluesy sound that will probably never be duplicated. The new GNR is good and the new songs for the most part are good/ great. What made the old GNR so great were the different influences from 5 different directions into one. AFD, will never be duplicated it is not possible. With the old or the new band everyone is much different now than when they were starving struggling rock musicians.

I have to disagree that if the old band stayed together they would be no more than VR. UY albums were pretty complex and you felt the whole bands presence on those albums. From Axl’s epic songs like “November Rain” and “Estranged” to simple but great songs like “Yesterdays” to Izzy influenced “dust and bones.” All those songs were different but great on their own.

If some way the original line up could have been mature enough to work together, I personally feel they would have continued to make great music. I am a firm believer in the new band, but let’s not discount the original. It is kind of like an old car, sure the new cars have all these bells and whistles and GPS and all this other crap which are great… But remember how much fun you had in your old car??? I know I do

"Better" has NOT been played yet on QRoc. It is 1:22 pm est June 2 and usually by this time it has been on twice. "Patience" and "Live and Let Die" have been played but no "Better"!
This must've been some kind of cock tease thrown at us by the gnr camp to get us salivating of whats to come with the tour and a possible release. B.P whats the deal, did Qroc have to pull it?

I have a friend who sent e-mails to various people including GnR and Universal Music asking if it was an official single being played. If it has been pulled from QROC, then I guess we got our answer and the song was just another version of a leaked track.

Una lesión que sufrió el bajista Tommy Stinson amenazó con que este día no se realizaría el show de Guns N' Roses en la Ciudad, pero para beneplácito de sus fans, todo está listo para que la agrupación resuene en la Arena Monterrey.

Desde la mañana de ayer los técnicos comenzaron a armar el escenario que cobijará al legendario rockero y a sus músicos.

Durante la tarde, los ingenieros estuvieron checando que el sonido estuviera bien, mientras que los técnicos ultimaban los detalles de las estructuras del escenario. Para cerca de las 19:00 horas, todo estaba prácticamente listo para esta noche de rock.

Entre las cosas que los regios verán esta noche están tres pantallas gigantes, luces robóticas y una fuerte descarga de pirotécnica.

Desde el jueves, Dizzy Reed, Chris Pitman, Stinson, Brian "Brain" Mantia, Frank Ferrer, Robin Finck, Richard Fortus y Ron Thal llegaron a Monterrey para empezar a alistarse para esta gran noche.

Alrededor de las 20:00 horas de ese día, arribaron al hotel Crowne Plaza Monterrey y se instalaron en sus habitaciones. Se estima que Axl Rose llegue hoy en el transcurso del día en un vuelo privado.

Alfredo Bernal, del departamento de prensa de la Arena, le recomendó a los asistentes que adquirieron sus boletos de cancha irse lo más temprano posible.

If I were Axl, this type of fan teasing is EXACTLY what I would do to ensure good record sales. In 2002 I vowed to not buy a single piece of recorded music until to the release of ChiDem. Needless to say I've saved a lot of money since then :-)

I would buy the album just for a studio version of Madagascar. What a gorgeous song.

"Me" said shit was going on over here. I don't know who the fuck you are talking to, but it isn't me. If you are referring to "I know I know" above your comment. and making an assumption, then you need to think before you type, as that is not me.

I didn't expect people to miss me, but I am glad I had a fan or two on this site. There is nothing for me to be jealous of on this site, especially you and all your names on here(genital herpes, one of the buckethead people, Savanna, Bloke and Aziz among others and don't fucking lie to everyone on here and deny it either), while I have used my name and only my name at all times. I don't see the fucking point in being several people on here. I say what I say under my own name and if people don't like it then they can kiss my ass. At least then I am not pretending to be something I am not. Can you say the same Pat? I am reminded of an e-mail from you where you said the more you hear the new songs from GnR, the less you like them....too much going on is what you said. Now you are all aboard the GnR bandwagon because some station plays a demo? Whatever.

Now, ask me if I give a damn what people you talk to off this site think of me???? Go ahead and ask, Pat. Nevermind, I will give you the answer instead. I don't really give a fuck. It means nothing to me. Like I said, if I have something to say, I will say it and not do it behind someones back like you and the friends you talk to apparently.

Again, I am disappointed in your childish ways. Yes as I have admitted, I did use that name. And I did it to embarrass Gomer, or to at least make him think before he made any more mean and hurtful comments towards Muslims. Or for any other people for that matter.

Everyone has a right to post and share information on this site. And what he was saying was awful, I felt that if he knew there was someone reading his hate that was Muslim, he might think twice before doing it again.

I am guilty of that, and I would do it again.

I just took a gander over at Q94.5's play list and is it just me, or do most of their top 10 songs suck? That disco sounding Finger 11 song Paralyzer just gets on my nerves almost as much as the new Puddle of Mud song which rips off Dire Strait's lyrics "money for nothing and your chicks for free" Even Korn's new one (or the Smashing Pumpkins for that matter) don't do anything for me. Damn, most music on rock radio today really blows.

Guess what?Chinese Democracy will not be titled Chinese Democracy,and none of the other future albums will have that title.

The reason is that the label will not support any albums with that title because it promotes China and all of their evil things that they do.

There will be a new album,but can you guess who will be playing on it?Well all I will say is that it's cool to have the top hat back.
