The same situation happened a few years back when Finck re-joined NIN for a few tour dates and then returned to the Guns setup. I still think that this is the case now

Afterall if the rumours are true and that Chi Dem is finally done and delivered pending a release date what else is there for Mr Finck to do untill a Chi Dem World Tour kicks off ?? Sit on his arse and wait i dont think so

Why dismiss 8.8.8 solely based on it is not a tuesday reason, remember what happened to merrick for saying silly things ! do you honestly think axl would bend-over and cop sorry mr rose you cant have a release on the 8th it is not a tuesday... PLEASE since when has axl been dictated to over anything . bp no offence but you come across quite strongly opposing this date if you have any inside knowledge as many have often wondered i think now would be the time to share !!!Keep in mind deer loyal fans that once the ok has been given at the board it will take 8-10 weeks of production and pressing, then possibly a single then the album.08-08-08 does not look that far away afterall. p.s keep up the the good work guys.

All CD's are released on Tuesdays for 2 reasons. #1.) It allows the maximum amount of time for sales to ring through making the declaration of the #1 artist in CD sales look that much more impressive. #2 It’s cheaper to simply have 1 day that all titles are made available to the public.

Anyone who thinks Axl has any pull like he did back in his heyday is crazy. Believe me, Axl will get “dictated” to on the release date for this record. GN’R are a gamble with this release. They are NOT a sure fire hit. Why anyone would think that Axl will be able to call all the shots on this release is beyond me. Now, if this album does sell like wildfire, then he will be able to call all the shots, but until then it’s an uphill battle for him when it comes to the label’s management.

I think we aren't seeing public comments about Fincks movement this time around simply because it isn't a big deal. The album is finished, and Axl doesn't need Finck to have it released. I see this as band members getting their last side project acts in before the monster that will be Chinese Democracy hits.

Besides, Finck (if he is supposed to come back) is out on the road until at least sometime in September. Why release a disc, if you cannot go out and tour on it because a band member is doing something else?

1. Dr Pepper wanting to give every American a free can of soda
2. GNR hired new management
3. Fink touring with NIN

If Axl would have hired this management team a year ago, I would believe we are close... Since GNR has not had proper representation for 18 months, the more I think about it the earliest would be Nov 08

Fine songs by all means but not the stuff dreams are made of. Axl keeps the real big ones under his pillow. Love the guy.

What would be the importance of having a release date with three 8's? I think the fact that it just three 8's isn't enough for Axl to pull a special schedule.

On an side not 08-08-08 would be the 13th anniversary of (Grateful Dead) Jerry Garcia. I'm not a Dead fan by any means, it just one of those dates that sticks in my head for some reason.

Reminds me a bit of Dr. Feelgood type stuff, but with a newer sound. The mix, however sounds like crap. There are parts in it that don't sound like they are synching up right.

You are right about the mix, I didn't catch that the frist couple of times. Good ears. With all these bands releasing music this year (hopefully) it kinda feels like the late 80's early 90's. GN'R (like I said..hopefully), Crue, Metallica, Alice In Chains are releasing one this year (I think anyway).

Metallica is the one I am waiting to hear stuff from. From all the reports ( and a few new live songs), that disc might actually be sounding like the older stuff before "Load" Hell, St. Anger would have been a really cool disc, if it weren't for the shitty production. That sound was horrible. Live, the songs weren't bad.

I couldn't care less about Alice in Chains though. There can be no replacing Layne. His voice was amazing.

That's true about Layne and I thought the same thing. In fact I feel that AIC should have gone on without adding a new singer and just have Jerry Cantrell handle the singing duties. Even when Layne was alive, Jerry Cantrell wrote the majority of the music and sang a little on all the AIC records. When I realized that, that's when I started looking forawrd to their new record. Cantrells' solo stuff, especially Degradation Trip, is excellent.

...and Sleaze, yeah, that was a pretty good time for music. Lots of great music came out from 1987-1994. A golden age I'd say!

This is the best site by far out of all the official and non-official g n'r sites. Those other sites are seriously lacking in frequent news updates. If you are lucky, you might get one or two updates a month. So i say kudos and my hat is off to all who are involved with this site. Please keep up the great work!

I don't think Robin Finck rejoining NIN for a lengthy tour means anything one way or the other for "Chinese Democracy" release. The album will come out when Axl is damn good and ready. It's been 14 years now so what's another year or two? Besides, if axl wants Baz to go out and tour with g n'r again to support the album if it is ever released, the Poison tour runs through September of '08. So I would look for a late fall to year-end release hopefully.........maybe................
